This morning, the Illinois Associated Press announced the winners of its 2013 Broadcasters excellence contest. In the downstate radio division, WVIK News Editor, Michelle O'Neill, won first place for Best Series or Documentary, "Immigrants and Drivers Licenses." She produced three feature stories for the series: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 are posted on WVIK's web site with audio. The awards will be presented during the spring meeting of the Illinois News Broadcasters Association, next month in Peoria.
