Habitat for Humanity will hold two groundbreakings this weekend in Davenport. The houses will be built side-by-side in the 900 block of Tremont Avenue.Director of Development, Dougal Nelson, says Saturday's ceremonies will be the second time the local Habitat chapter has held dual groundbreakings. And the groups involved in each project are unified in their commitment to helping others.

Wells Fargo is another sponsor of house 92, which Tanneshia Garcia will buy for herself and her three daughters. It's also the home that women will help build. Nelson says 100,000 dollars has already been raised for house 92. But a donation for number 94 has a condition attached.

A donor gave $60,000 for the house that will honor Pope Francis, but $40,000 in matching contributions must come from the community. So far, Habitat has raised $20,000 and needs help from the public to make up the difference.

Avita Hicks and her two daughters are set to buy the Pope Francis House. Nelson says both Hicks and Garcia have already worked many hours of "sweat equity" to qualify for a home.Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities will hold the groundbreakings Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
