After a long weekend of eating and shopping, non-profits are asking people to think about charity.
Tomorrow, the Quad Cities United Way will participate in Giving Tuesday for the first time. It's collecting household items for lower income families and individuals.
President Scott Crane hopes to help families who must choose between basic needs. "A lot of folks in the community are really struggling to make ends meet and something as simple as basic hygiene items can make all the difference in the world."
Items on the list include deodorant, toothbrushes, diapers, cleaning supplies and laundry detergent.
The supplies will be distributed to non-profits and certain schools in the Quad Cities area. People who want to donate can go to UnitedwayQC.org or mail a check to their office: 852 Middle Rd, Ste 401, Bettendorf, IA 52722.
