Later this year, the Alcoa plant in the Quad Cities will be part of a company called, Arconic. Michelle O'Neill reports the Pittsburgh-based company is preparing to split into two, independently traded businesses.
Summary
Last fall, the company announced it planned to separate its aluminum, bauxite, and casting operations -- to be known as Alcoa -- from its engineering, transportation, and global rolled products businesses -- to be known as Arconic, and including the Davenport Works in Riverdale.
The split will take effect in the second half of this year.
And it'll be hard to get used to saying "Arconic eaglecam" instead of Alcoa eaglecam when referring to the long-time nest and home of Liberty, Justice and their broods.
