It's check-writing time for property owners in Rock Island County. The first installment of this year's property taxes is due by Thursday.
Residents can pay online, by mail, at the County Treasurer's Office during normal business hours, at a 24-hour drop box in front of the County Office building, or at some banks and credit unions in Rock Island County.
Any payments made after the June 12th deadline will incur a penalty of 1.5 percent per month.
The second installment of property taxes will be due in August.
