The Rock Island County Board will hold final interviews tonight with the two finalists for county administrator. The board will meet privately with Reginald Edwards and Dave Ross, and then possibly choose one.

Reginald Edwards

Edwards currently teaches public administration at Minnesota State University, but previous jobs include county government in Saint Paul and city administrator for a small town.
He also spent 11 years leading a regional development organization in Minnesota.

Ross is now the village administrator for Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, following previous jobs in city administration, and as a police officer.

If hired here, he would first work with the board to set goals.

The county needs strong financial management and that's one of my strengths.

If the Rock Island County board makes a decision tonight, then the next step is to work out a contract, including the salary and whether it's multi-year.

The new administrator could start as soon as May.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
