The River Recedes

Following the 6th highest crest ever in the Quad Cities, the Mississippi River is beginning to fall, and cities are beginning to dismantle their flood protection.

The river crested last Friday (7/4) at 5.9 feet over flood stage, and of this afternoon had dropped 2 feet to 3.8 feet over flood stage. The current forecast calls for the river to reach flood stage next Monday.
