River Bandits Record

The Quad Cities River Bandits set a record this season. Following the final home games of the regular season over the weekend, attendance per game surpased the previous record by about 400.

General Manager Andrew Chesser says the team averaged nearly 39-hundred fans per game this season. That is the highest average in the 55-year history of the Quad Cities team. But it could have been even higher.

"We would have broken the all-time attendance record. The problem was mother nature did not play along. So we actually had nine rain-outs this year, which was the most in the Midwest League. So had we not had those rain-outs, we would have, based on our numbers, surpased our all-time record."

Total attendance this season at River Bandits home games was 237,000, but that was short of the all time record of 260,000 set in 1994.

Chesser says even though the season is over for the team, the staff is still working hard. They have already set next year's schedule and they're beginning to work on concession prices, exact game times, and a list of promotions.
