Volunteers this weekend can participate in Earth Week with a local clean-up. River Action is holding a clean-up in Moline, at the Green Valley Nature Preserve and Black Hawk College, to remove invasive species.
Program Director Jessica Flondro says one of the species that volunteers will remove is the honeysuckle tree.
The clean-up is part of River Action's $220,000 project, called the Urban Watershed Restoration Project. The organization has received help from the Moline Parks Department and Living Lands & Waters.
