The effort to get a head start on fixing up or replacing the Rock Island County courthouse has failed. Voters on Tuesday, by a wide margin, rejected a proposal to expand the authority of the public building commission. The "yes" votes totalled 61-hundred, while the "no's" added up to 94-hundred, or a margin of 39 to 61 per cent.
