For the fourth year, Davenport and Rock Island will join forces to celebrate Independence Day. On Wednesday, July 3rd, they'll sponsor fireworks over the Mississippi River, and a variety of activities on both riverfronts.
Bill Nelson, director of Parks and Recreation for Rock Island, says it will be largest show between Chicago and Denver.
"The thing that will be unique this year is the fireworks will be electronically choreographed to music."
LeClaire Park in Davenport and Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island will both open at 6 pm on July 3rd, and feature music, children's activities, and food. The main sponsors are Genesis Health System and the Riverboat Development Authority.
