Stanley Liggins may get another trial for murder.
He's already been convicted twice for the killing in 1990 of 9 year old Jennifer Lewis, whose body was found near a Davenport school. Today, the Iowa Court of Appeals ruled Liggins was denied a fair trial because prosecutors failed to tell his attorneys a key witness was a paid police informant. The court vacated Liggins' conviction and ordered a new trial.
The Iowa attorney general's office, which prosecuted the case, will appeal to the Iowa Supreme Court.
