The search is over for a Davenport man who went missing just before Christmas. On Tuesday, a fisherman found a body in the Mississippi River near Fairport in Muscatine County, and an autopsy today confirms it's Willis Hughes.
The 45 year old Hughes was last seen at his home on December 21st, and reported missing in early January. Dental records helped identify the body. Davenport police say it's too early to estimate how long he'd been in the river, but it did appear to have been a long time.
The investigation now includes the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office.
