The Martin Luther King Center's New Director Starts

The new Executive Director of the Martin Luther King center in Rock Island says "it's good to be home." Reverend Dwight Ford grew up in Rock Island and officially started his new job on Monday. Ford says he has good memories of the center from his childhood.

Reverend Ford earned a Masters Degree from the Harvard Divinity School and a business degree from Western Illinois University. He thinks the role of the King Center is to invest in Rock Island.

He left Rock Island to join the US Marines in 1989 and served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Most recently Reverend Ford served as director of the Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership.
