An organization devoted to helping Iowa children and their families is celebrating a major milestone. Lutheran Services in Iowa was founded 150 years ago (1864).
Today in Davenport the agency's Scott County office held a ribbon cutting as part of a statewide anniversary observance. Site manager, Penny Ploog, says LSI is one of Iowa's largest human services organizations.
The Davenport office has a staff of 47, and currently serves about 11-hundred children.
