Lagomarcino's is now an official delicious destination. Today, the Illinois Office of Tourism and Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau gave the restaurant and candy shop in Moline an award, "Enjoy Illinois: Delicious Destination."
The award recognizes unique local restaurants across the state.
Co-owner Beth Lagomarcino says the 106-year-old business is the only one in the Quad Cities area to receive the award.
The Delicious Destination award honors restaurants that are "authentically Illinois" and make "a trip to the state unforgettable."
So far, 19 restaurants in Illinois have received the Delicious Destination award, including Q's Cafe in Galesburg. Award winners will receive a certificate from the state and a sign to display in their restaurants.
