Early next month, Ethan and Bethany Anderson of West Liberty will travel to Jordan to volunteer with a church located in Mafraq, a city that's taken in more that 78,000 Syrians.
The UN says The Syrian Civil War has displaced nearly 5 million people. That number prompted Ethan Anderson to pay closer attention.
Anderson and his wife, Bethany, decided to do something. They found a church in the Jordanian town of Mafraq that needs volunteers to hand out supplies to Syrians who have come to town.
The Andersons have been fundraising to buy food and supplies. They hope to raise about $10,000, enough for about 30 families to get settled.
Anderson is eager to get there and start helping. They'll leave for Jordan on April 5th.
