After testing the market, Goodwill is going to open a new store in Geneseo. On Friday, the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce will help cut the ribbon at the new location.
Mindy Kayser, from Goodwill of the Heartland, says it first opened a donation center in Geneseo last year. And, the number of high donations showed Goodwill could open a full store.
The new store is located on Highway 6 East, where Geneseo Country Market used to be. It includes a drive-thru for donations.
Kayser says there will be games, prizes, and give-aways at the grand opening on Friday. The ribbon cutting will be held at 8:45 am, before the store opens at 9.
Goodwill of the Heartland is based in Iowa City and already has 14 stores in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
