Two finalists for Rock Island County administrator will be interviewed again this week. Today, the county board announced their names, and members may vote on which candidate to hire after meeting tomorrow.
Dave Ross is currently the Village Administrator of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Previously, he was City Administrator in Wellman, Iowa. And before that, Ross spent 18 years as a police officer, holding a variety of positions, including homicide detective.
The other finalist, Reginald Edwards, is a professor in the Department of Government at Minnesota State University. His experience includes eleven years as Director of the Region Nine Development Commission in Makato, Minnesota, and he has served as City Administrator of Chisago City, also in Minnesota.
Ross and Edwards were among four candidates who visited the Quad Cities last week to meet informally with members of the Rock Island County Board. Both have earned a masters degree in public administration. And the press release says they both have experience in budgeting, economic development, strategic planning, and policy analysis and development.
After a final interview with both, the county board will meet in closed session and may make a final choice Tuesday night.
