Dubuque Breaks Public Transportation Record

The Jule

More Dubuque residents are using public transportation. In October, the city broke the record for the most rides in one month on the Jule transit system.
Director of Transit Operations, Candace Eudaley-Loebach, says over 50,000 people rode the Jule in October, a 17 percent increase from the previous year. And, she credits the restructuring done last January.
The increase in riders is also because of partnerships with area schools and residents' desire to save money and energy.

Eudaley-Loebach says the goal is to reduce congestion on roads in Dubuque.

Dubuque will consider more restructuring in the next 12 to 18 months.

Fares went up in July, but monthly passes for the Jule cost less for passengers who are elderly and disabled.
