A 60-year-old pine tree from a backyard in the Quad Cities is now part of a holiday tradition. Today, a crew lifted into place a Christmas tree at the iWireless Center in Moline.
It's been a tradition for over 20 years.
Kevin Snodgrass, director of operations, says this time, a Moline couple donated a 60-foot-tall blue spruce.
Workers trimmed it to about 35 feet and used a crane to lift it and secure it.
Snodgrass says workers would start putting 30,000 lights on the tree this afternoon.
The tree will be lit during the annual Lighting on the Commons Ceremony on November 22nd in downtown Moline.
