College Golfers to Play in Deere Classic

Three college golfers, and one amateur, will have a chance to compete against the pros next month.  Wednesday, the John Deere Classic awarded four sponsor exemptions to some of the nation's top young golfers, so they can play in this year's tournament. 
One is Bryson DeChambeau, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He won the NCAA individual title this year, and qualified for his first US Open, that'll be held next week.
Lee McCoy, from the University of Georgia, is currently the world's fourth-ranked amateur. 
And, the third college player to earn a spot at the Classic is Brian Campbell, who just finished his senior season at the University of Illinois, and will compete in his second US Open next week.
The Classic's fourth exemption was given to Patrick Rodgers, who's already played in the tournament four times. Rodgers recently earned temporary membership on the PGA Tour-- the same path Jordan Spieth used to get on the tour in 2013. 
In addition to Spieth, who won this year's Masters, Zach Johnson, Patrick Reed, and Tiger Woods all began their professional careers with sponsor exemptions.
