After nearly three decades, the Scott County Sheriff's Department will lose one of its leaders. Chief deputy, Major Michael Brown, has announced he'll retire at the end of this week.
Brown started working for the sheriff's office in 1986, as a deputy. He's worked in the patrol division, the civil division, and in one of this area's first drug investigation units. And for the past 15 years, he's served as the internal affairs investigator for the department.
The Scott County Sheriff's department will honor Major Brown during an open house at the county courthouse this Friday from 1 to 4 pm.
