Charley Hoffman To Play In JDC

TPC Deere Run

The line-up for the John Deere Classic golf tournament is starting to take shape, with veterans and rookies reserving spots to play in the $5.6 million dollar event. 

At least 25 players who have previously competed in the U.S. Open have now made their commitments.
 That includes 40-year-old Charley Hoffman, who finished 8th in the U.S. Open last week.

Several others include 26-year-old Harold Varner III, who has three top-25 finishes this year, and 2016 John Deere Classic Champion Ryan Moore. 

This is the 47th annual John Deere Classic tournament. It'll take place from July 10th through the 16th. 

Other recent commitments include:

  • Daniel Berger, defending champion of the FedEx St. Jude tournament in Memphis
  • Harris English, 27
  • Chris Kirk, 32, four-time PGA tour winner
  • Kyle Stanley, 29, who has top 10 finishes at The Players and The Memorial
  • Nick Taylor, 30, who has top 10 finishes at Wells Fargo, AT&T Byron Nelson and Pebble Beach
  • Steve Sticker, John Deere Classic champion, 2009-11
  • Zack Johnson, 2012 John Deere Classic champion
  • Si Woo Kim, 21, winner of the 2017 Players championship
