More than 600 students are spending their final days at Augustana College in Rock Island. Graduation weekend gets underway Saturday with the senior honors convocation and music festival concert.
Following the baccalaureate service on Sunday morning, the 154th commencement will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3, at the iWireless Center in Moline. At the ceremony, 17th District Congresswoman Cheri Bustos from East Moline will be the commencement speaker. Then she and Robert Ontiveros, chairman and founder of Group O will receive honorary degrees. Ontiveros is also a trustee of the college.
