Arc ribbon cutting

An agency that helps people with disabilities will now have more money to spend on its programs. Today The Arc of the Quad Cities held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the installation of a geo-thermal heating and cooling system at its Opportunity Center in Moline.
Executive director Kyle Rick says the new H-V-A-C system replaces one that was 40 years old. And she estimates it's already reduced their utility costs by 70 per cent.
She also thanked Moline State Senator Mike Jacobs for helping win a 275,000 dollar state grant for the new system from the state's capital development budget.
The Arc uses the Opportunity Center for its day programs, community support, and employment services. And each day about 150 people and 30 staff work there.
