Another Traffic Headache

Another road construction project will begin tying up traffic in downtown Moline. Today (tues), a contractor will begin working on River Drive between 19th and 23rd streets.
This week, the Illinois Department of Transportation says the work should not significantly affect traffic. But, next Monday (9/8), River Drive and the ramps to and from I-74 will be closed. The work is not scheduled for completion until December.

The 6.9 million dollar project includes removing the existing roadway, and installing new water mains, sewers, storm sewers, and pavement.
Traffic to and from I-74 in downtown Moline will be directed to the 7th Avenue interchange.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
