The 20th annual Quad Cities Marathon will be held this weekend - on Sunday morning - with the start and finish lines on River Drive in downtown Moline. Proceeds each year benefit prostate cancer research and screening.
The course includes 4 cities, 3 bridges, 2 states, and 1 island, all along the Mississippi River. Each year, one lane of the I-74 Bridge is closed to vehicle traffic so runners, soon after the start, can cross the river from Moline to Bettendorf.
In addition to the 26 mile marathon, there is a half marathon, marathon relay, and 5K - starting time for all the races is 7:30 am.
