Movies Will Help Honor Veterans Next Month

October  17, 2013

Next month, half a dozen Quad Cities groups will honor veterans with two film screenings. Craig Cooper, spokesman for the Genesis Health System, says on Veterans Day, two documentaries will be shown at the Adler Theater. At 1 and 8 p.m., a film about Honor Flights will be shown. And at 6 p.m., the feature will be a documentary entitled, "To Them That's Gone." It's about a group of people who ran one mile to honor each of the 4,000 soldiers who died in the war in Iraq.

For several years, Cooper says the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf has offered a program called We Honor Veterans. And the Veterans Day films are an extension of the program, adding another way to recognize those who've sacrificed their time and lives to serve their country.
