RI Election Results

April  10, 2013

The re-match for mayor of Rock Island is over, and Dennis Pauley has won again.  In Tuesday's election, he earned 59 per cent of the vote, to 30 per cent for David Levin. The margin was 34-hundred to 17-hundred - a far cry from four years ago when the election ended in a tie, and was finally decided by a coin flip.

Rick Cassini ran a distant third in the mayoral race, with 10 per cent of the vote.

The Rock Island city council will soon have two new members. In Tuesday's election, Kate Hotle won an open seat in the 5th ward, and Ivory Clark defeated incumbent Terry Brooks in the first.

Brooks has served on the council for 16 years and is its longest serving member, but he lost to challenger Ivory Clark by a margin of 67 to 33 per cent.

Hotle beat three other candidates for the seat now held by Jason Jones who decided not to run for re-election. She earned 50 per cent of the vote, while her closest competitor got 20 per cent.
