McCann Succeeds Noe as Renew Moline Board Chairman
June 26, 2014
An organization known for its revitalization projects in Moline has a new leader. Steve McCann has been named chairman of the Board of Directors of Renew Moline.
McCann succeeds Gregory Noe from John Deere & Company, who lead the organization for three years. Under Noe's leadership, Renew helped bring the KONE Centre and Enterprise Lofts to downtown Moline. Also, he says Western Illinois University completed Phase 1 of its new campus and began Phase II, which will include five new buildings.
Noe says, "For the first time, you'll really see a campus start to sprout out of the ground along River Drive and you'll see a true college campus for Western Illinois. It'll be great for not just Moline, but the entire Quad City area."
Noe, a Moline resident, joined Renew four years ago and his term ends today. He says will stay involved., and he hopes that as Renew Moline approaches its 25th anniversary, no one take its success for granted.
"Every year and every project requires everyone to roll up their sleeves and be patient. Stick with it. The volunteers make the organization, so we really need to continue to get volunteers, more participation. The more businesses that we have invested in moline and interested in the development of Moline, the more successful renew moline will be going forward."
Noe stepped down as Board chairman because his new position at Deere & Company requires him to travel more. He selected Steve McCann as his successor. McCann is a managing partner at McGladrey and member of Renew's executive commitee.
