Galesburg groundbreaking starts long process of renovating the high school
April 15, 2013
A multi-million dollar renovation project at Galesburg High School kicked off on Friday. Phase one of the project includes construction of a new sports facility slated to begin next month. Superintendent Bart Arthur says physical education is important for students' mental and physical health.
It's just the first phase of a plan to completely renovate the high school. Arthur says last year, Knox County voters approved a one cent sales tax to help pay for the $16 million dollar project. Construction is expected to begin by the end of May.
