The cost of attending the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges may increase next fall. Tonight the Board of Trustees will discuss a possible increase of two dollars and eighty cents per credit hour, bringing the new cost for in-state tuition to 134 dollars per hour.
College district spokesman, Alan Campbell, says if approved, the average student will end up paying about 75 dollars more per year at Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott Community Colleges.
This will be the first discussion of tuition by the board of trustees, so a decision may not be made tonight. Campbell says the hourly rate for the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges includes tuition and all fees students are required to pay.
