Crawford Co. Expands

October  10, 2013

A Rock Island company has just completed a major expansion and will hold a ribbon cutting this afternoon. Crawford Company has added 20,000 square feet, and some new employees and products.

Vice president, Ian Frink, says the 61 year old company provides fabrication and repair for heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and welding equipment. But it's also been adding some new products and services in recent years.

"We have field crews in Dubuque now doing work in industrial and manufacturing environments, and welding and fabrication services. Also new, we are now manufacturing micro-brewing equipment - we're shipping our third system for that next week. "

Frink says the expansion is partly due to an improving economy, but mainly due to Crawford's diversification, adding new products and services. When the expansion began a year-and-a-half ago, the company employed 72 people, but has since added 33 more (for a total of 105).
