Instead of retiring, the head of the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau has accepted a new job. Wednesday the bureau announced president and ceo Joe Taylor will start working in June as executive director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Evansville, Indiana.

A long career as one of the top cheerleaders for the Quad Cities is about to end. Thursday the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau announced President and CEO Joe Taylor will retire at the end of the year.

Once again, residents of the Quad Cities are being asked to visit the Quad Cities. This weekend, the Convention and Visitors Bureau will sponsor the 17th annual "Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard."

MVC Adds a Year in the QC

One of the top sports events in the Quad Cities will be held here for at least one more year. The convention and visitors bureau and the Missouri Valley Conference have tentatively agreed to extend their current contract for the women's basketball tournament through 2019 at the iWireless Center.

Planning a trip to the Quad Cities just got easier. The Convention and Visitors Bureau has added new features to its website including better filter options for finding a hotel.
