Once again, residents of the Quad Cities are being asked to visit the Quad Cities. This weekend, the Convention and Visitors Bureau will sponsor the 17th annual "Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard."

Quad Cities hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions will offer year-long discounts.  For the 17th year, the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau is promoting "Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard."  

Spokeswoman Jessica Waytenick, says the businesses gave away 3,000 wristbands last summer.

Quad City residents looking to get away this weekend won't have to go far. The Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau will host its 15th annual "Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard Weekend." 

 Spokeswoman Jessica Waytenick says the promotion includes discounts at over 50 area businesses, from restaurants to spas. And the weekend gives people a break from their usual routine. 

Planning a trip to the Quad Cities just got easier. The Convention and Visitors Bureau has added new features to its website including better filter options for finding a hotel.

Local residents are invited to take a vacation without leaving town this weekend. It's the 14th annual "Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard Weekend," sponsored by the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau.  Spokeswoman Jessica Waytenick  says 45 businesses, restaurants, attractions, and hotels will participate, offering discounts and special promotions.  She says one of the most popular deals is a coupon for free admission to the Putnam Museum, after the purchase of one ticket. Other specials include cheaper rates and meals at the Hotel Blackhawk and 14 other hotels.
