100 Cellos Have Arrived

Local artists will help the Quad City Symphony Orchestra raise money for music education and celebrate its 100th anniversary season. This morning, a truck delivered 100 actual, but un-finished, cellos, made in China, for a fund-raiser called "100 years, 100 cellos."

Ensemble Espanol

School children, service club members, and other local residents are learning this week about the dance and music of Spain. The Ensemble Espanol Spanish Dance Theater has come to the Quad Cities as part of this year's Quad City Arts Visiting Artist Program.

  Employees of the i Wireless Center will work all night to make sure this weekend's show is fun and safe. The World's Toughest Rodeo won't need an ice rink or even a stage for its performances Friday and Saturday. What the bulls, barrel racers, cowboys, clowns, and horses will need is six to eight inches of dirt.

Figge Art Museum

Children in prison are featured in a new art exhibit in the Quad Cities. Over the weekend, the Figge Art Museum in Davenport opened "Girls in Justice." Richard Ross photographed the children in juvenile jails across the country. And 53 of his most recent photos are on display.
