News headlines for the morning of November 1, 2017

  • For the fourth year in a row, November 1 is the beginning of a very busy time for Jennifer Busch. She's a navigator for Genesis Health System, based in Davenport, who helps people sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

  • The state of Illinois has added more information to its state health insurance marketplace website in time for the start of open enrollement today. The new information allows consumers to compare health insurance plans for sale both on and off the public Affordable Care Act exchange. The websitepreviously hasn't included information about all plans or the ability to enroll in them and talk to licensed brokers.

  • It was anotherrecord breaking year for Birdies for Charity. The annual event raises money based on the number of birdies recorded during the John Deere Classic. This year's total, announced Tuesday at Deere and Company World Headquarters in Moline, is nearly $12.3 million.

  • Tuesday at Augustana College, about 100 t-shirts on display were folded and packed away for next year. Called the Clothesline Project, they're meant to help us remember victims of domestic violence.
