Three New Mayors

A changing of the guard in the Illinois Quad Cities. This week, three new mayors will be sworn in following the April election.

Monday night in East Moline, Reggie Freeman will take over from John Thodos, and in Rock Island Mike Thoms will be sworn in and succeed Dennis Pauley.

Tuesday night in Moline, Scott Raes will hand over the gavel to Stephanie Acri.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
