"TED Talks" Coming To The Quad Cities With TEDxDavenport

TEDxDavenport

The popular live lecture series “TED Talks” will make its way to Davenport this March, in the form of a day of educational talks at the Figge Art Museum.

The event, TEDxDavenport, is sanctioned by TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design), the nonprofit organization which posts educational and motivational speeches online—many of which go viral.

Some of these talks that end up going viral originate from the main Ted conference in Vancouver, Canada. Many, however, come from satellite conferences all around the globe—what are known as “TEDx” events.

TEDxDavenport is the first such TEDx event to be held in the Quad Cities.

It is being organized in part by Sean Moeller, the Davenport-based founder of the popular indie music website Daytrotter.

Among those scheduled to present at TEDxDavenport: a therapist who focuses on healthy posture, an engineer who designs technology for people with disabilities, and a biochemist who works to advance STEM education.

Anyone who wishes to attend the conference must request an invitation online at TEDxDavenport.com. Seating is limited to 100 attendees. The conference is scheduled for March 7.
