Taylor Accepts New Job

QCCVB

Instead of retiring, the head of the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau has accepted a new job. Wednesday the bureau announced president and ceo Joe Taylor will start working in June as executive director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Evansville, Indiana.

In March, Taylor announced he would retire at the end of the year.

His last day in the Quad Cities will be June lst, and he'll start in Evansville on June 4th.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
