Saint Ambrose University will have three new varsity sports teams starting next year. This week, the athletic department announced it will add men's and women's swimming and diving, and women's lacrosse.
The swimming teams will start competing next fall, and use the new pool at Davenport Central High School for practice. The women's lacrosse team will begin play in the spring of 2018.
Saint Ambrose also announced it's hired Garrett Wimberly as the head men's and women's lacrosse coach. Wimberly was previously the men's lacrosse coach at the University of Memphis.
