Railroad Days Shots Fired Suspect Identified

Galesburg Police Department

Police in Galesburg have identified a possible suspect after someone fired shots on Saturday night during this year's Railroad Days. 18 year old Latrell Patterson is being called a "person of interest."

About 9:30 pm on Saturday, police responded to a report of shots fired in the carnival area of the weekend festival, and found two spent shell casings. No one was injured.

Anyone with information about Patterson is asked to call the Galesburg Police Department (309-343-9151) or Galesburg Crime Stoppers (309-344-0044).

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
