RAGBRAI Route Announced

Thousands of bike riders can expect a shorter and flatter ride through Iowa this summer. On Saturday, RAGBRAI announced the eight cities where participants will spend the night during the week-long bike ride.

This year's ride begins July 23rd in Glenwood and covers the southern part of the state, ending July 30th in Muscatine. The course covers 420 miles and is the third-shortest in the event's 44-year history.

Other cities on the route include Shenandoah, Creston, Leon, Centerville, Ottumwa, and Washington.

RAGBRAI expects about 10,000 riders to participate this year. The event brings in about $3 million a day to local economies.

Last year's RAGBRAI route ended in Davenport, where bike riders dipped their tires in the Mississippi River.
