Police Need Help Finding Men Suspected of Arson

Crime Stoppers

Police are asking for help finding two men who may have set a Moline home on fire.

Michelle O'Neill has more.

Crime Stoppers and the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department say early Sunday morning, firefighters and deputies were called to the 4000 block of 13th Street, in the Fruitland neighborhood.

The sheriff says neighbors heard a loud explosion right before the house went up in flames. Three people got out safely, but an 88-year-old woman was trapped inside. Firefighters rescued her, and she's being treated for life-threatening injuries at a hospital in Iowa City.

Police are looking for an older white Buick with damage on the front, passenger side. Detectives say two men ran from the scene and drove away in the Buick, and they are suspected of arson.

The Rock Island County Sheriff's Department is asking anyone with information to call the  Crime Stoppers tip line, (309)762-9500. It's anonymous, and those who submit tips leading to an arrest will receive up to 1,000 dollars.
