Peters Running for Congress

Christopher Peters

An Army veteran, and surgeon, from Coralville is running for Congress. Friday and Saturday , Christopher Peters will announce his candidacy at several stops in Iowa's 2nd District.

He's running as a republican against incumbent democrat Dave Loebsack.

One of Peters' goals, if elected, is to reduce the federal debt.
Peters would also like to do something about the growing income in-equality in this country.

We need to look at more fundamental changes to fix this problem.

He ran un-successfully for the Iowa Senate in 2010 from the Libertarian Party, and says he's now running for Congress because the problems he's most interested in, and concerned about, are at the "federal level."

Friday night Doctor Peters will make his first official announcement in Sigourney, with stops Saturday in Knoxville, Fairfield, Walcott, and Iowa City.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
