Palmer Signs Deal to Attract Students

Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport has a new deal with a Pennsylvania college to help attract more students. On Thursday, vice chancellor for marketing and communication James O'Connor announced the dual degree, three-plus-one agreement with Kutztown University president Kenneth Hawkinson.

O'Connor says it will save students both time and money.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for students to complete three years at their undergraduate institution, transfer to Palmer, and simultaneously complete their fourth year from their undergraduate institution and their first year at Palmer, so they overlap," O'connor says. "So it's a great opportunity to get a jump-start on their career, and their education here at Palmer, and also save money along the way."

Palmer has three-plus-one agreements with 45 universities, and Kutztown is just the latest. The list includes: St. Ambrose, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, and Eastern Michigan.

The schools are connected by Kutztown's rugby coach, Greg Jones, who graduated from Palmer in 1975.
