So far, this winter has been warmer and wetter, but without much snow. Meteorologist, Ray Wolf, from the Quad Cities National Weather Service says three factors led to the mild conditions.
And when the jet stream has dropped into the Midwest, Wolf says the cold temperatures didn't last very long.
No strong snowstorms are in the outlook for the next week to ten days. And he thinks we'll probably get at least one more cold spell before winter's over.
Later this month, the weather service will release its first flood outlook of the year.
