Five presidential candidates are set to court voters in eastern Iowa over the next week.
Michelle O'Neill has the rundown.
Rand Paul is focusing on higher education, and this afternoon visited students at Coe and Cornell colleges. Tonight at 6:00, he'll hold a "Rand Rally" at the University of Iowa's Pentacrest. Then tomorrow morning at 8:45, Paul will hold another "Rand Rally" at the Rogalski Center at Saint Ambrose in Davenport.
Tomorrow night at 6:00, Rick Santorum & Mike Huckabee are set to speak at an event entitled, "the Jerusalem Call," at Grace Fellowship Church in Iowa City. At 9 p.m., Santorum will hold a town hall meeting at "The Airliner," an Iowa City sports bar.
The former governor of Arkansas will hold "Huckabee Huddles" this week in Ottumwa, Mount Pleasant, and in the Scott County town of Donahue. That'll be at Cinnamon Ridge Farms on Thursday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.
On Wednesday over the lunch hour, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal will talk with customers at Ross Restaurant's new location in Bettendorf (11:30 a.m.). Then on Thursday night at 6:00, Jindal will speak at to members of the Davenport Elks Lodge. And the public's welcome at that meeting.
Then on Sunday (10/18), democrat Bernie Sanders will kick off a two-day campaign trip in Iowa City.
