New Superintendent Chosen for Clinton Schools

A superintendent from southeastern Iowa has been chosen to lead the school district in Clinton. Gary DeLacy from Danville was one of three finalists for the superintendent's job in Clinton.

He'll take over from Deb Olson who's retiring in June.

DeLacy will start working in Clinton in July.

After receiving 20 applications, the board of education hosted interviews with the three finalists last week.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
